Gulf war air campaign
The gulf war air campaign was a aerial bombing campaign that started on the 17th of January 1991 and lasted to the 23rd of February in attempt to force Saddam Hussein to leave the city. The event was broadcasted worldwide via CNN's field reporters who were in a hotel reporting the bombings that were happening right outside. It was one of the first real field tests for the new missile guidance systems and was a great show of new tech vs old tech and the military might of the US and its allies. The US and its allies had 2,250 combat aircraft compared to Iraq's 550 aircraft, this proved america's military might and serious to the world
