She was so loved because she broke the rules and standards as the Princess of Whales. She was continuously watched by Americans who loved keeping up with the royal family.
The death of Prince Diana is something that not only had impacted Britain but also something that had affected the world, especially United States. I think the cause of her and the car chase to get away from the paparazzi is something that could've been preventable if the media and the world wasn't obsessed with the Princess's everyday moves. According to History.com, "Diana is buried on a small island surrounded by a lake at Althorp, her family’s ancestral estate in Northamptonshire, England." Princess Diana's openness of her private life and closeness to the people definitely impacted the sheer size of people who attended her funeral, the legacy that she left to the world was that she will always be the people's princess.
