In the early 1920s in America, there was a surplus of optimism that flowed from nearly every part of the country. Political progressiveness seemed inevitable to, and welcomed by, the masses at this point in time. Women were getting their rights, there was an increase of acceptance of immigrants by some parties in America. But with these positives, there were also many negatives that were brought up.
The Klu Klux Klan reemerged back into society and became stronger than it ever was before. The Klan detested the modern changes that were taking place in America, and used the patriotism of many at the time to boost their popularity and gain more political power. This caused more racial segregation and scared many people, as the group would often terrorize people that disagreed with any of their ideas in even the slightest way.
These incredible positives and negatives that occurred simultaneously in the country have defined the country in ways that are hard to describe. The Klu Klux Klan still exists today, and the dazzling achievements made by engineers and musicians at the time are remembered fondly.
